Leeds United face Jesurun Rak-Sakyi competition as Premier League club prepare to make bid

Southampton are planning to make a £12million bid for Leeds United-linked Crystal Palace starlet Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported via his Patreon on 22 July that the Eagles don’t want to sell the 21-year-old this summer but Premier League new boys Saints are hoping to convince them to cash in.

Nixon added that Leeds and Hull City want to seal a loan deal for Rak-Sakyi, which would be Palace’s preferred route as they view him as a “long-term project”.

Leeds United should only go for Jeserun Rak-Sakyi if player exits are sanctioned

Of all the areas in Leeds’ squad, the last place that needs further reinforcement is that of their wingers.

The West Yorkshire outfit has the likes of Willy Gnonto, Dan James, and Crysencio Summerville amongst their ranks to name just a few.

Granted, there is plenty of speculation around the future of Summerville and Gnonto but, for now at least, they look set to stay at Elland Road.

Summerville was mostly linked with an exit at the start of the window [Nancy Froston, 4 July] when a big sale was needed in order for the club to abide by the EFL’s PSR regulations.

In the end, however, it was Archie Gray who was sold to the shock of most fans.

Should an exit occur for any of their attackers then sure, a move for the Crystal Palace starlet makes sense but while Leeds are as stacked as they are out wide, there’s really no need for the club to make the move just yet.
