Leeds United: Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s heard about Crysencio Summerville transfer interest

Fabrizio Romano has shared a transfer update on the future of Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville amid reported interest from Liverpool.

Speaking on his Daily Briefing via Substack (10 April), the reliable transfer journalist admits that clubs are expected to push to sign the Dutch winger after his phenomenal form for the Whites in the Championship.

But Romano has shared that he has been told “there is nothing advanced” currently and ultimately the decision will be the club’s this summer.

“Crysencio Summerville – I’ve been asked by some fans about links with Liverpool and others, and for sure many, really many clubs are monitoring Crysencio Summerville ahead of this summer,” he said.

“At the moment I’m told there’s nothing advanced with anyone, but interest will be there.

“Clubs will push, then it will be up to Leeds United to make a decision in the summer.”

Leeds United must be prepared for transfer interest

The summer transfer window is going to be absolutely mental at Elland Road, regardless of what happens in the final run-in in the Championship.

Should the club earn promotion they will be forced to invest in the squad and bring in new faces for the Premier League, while big decisions will need to be made on players who left on loan last year.

But if promotion is fumbled and the team remains in the Championship then the squad is surely going to be targeted and picked apart by vultures from the top flight.

Summerville will likely be top of the list for a lot of clubs considering how good his form and performances have been, and with a contract that expires in 2026 if he isn’t willing to renew his deal then the club will have to consider a sale.

It’s going to be a busy time at Elland Road and decisions will need to be made, but full focus must be on promotion until the season is completely over.
