Leeds United eye Maccabi Haifa gem Mahmoud Jaber as approach claim made

Leeds United are considering a move for Maccabi Haifa gem Mahmoud Jaber, according to Sport 5.

The Israeli news outlet reported on 4 December that the Whites are following the 25-year-old, although no official approach has been made between by the Whites.

The defensive midfielder has been a mainstay in the side this season, having started nine of Maccabi’s 11 games.

A move to Leeds United for Mahmoud Jaber?

As the January transfer window edges closer, it is no surprise to see Leeds connected to players. Daniel Farke will be keen to strengthen his side where necessary to make sure the Whites can carry their momentum up until the end of the season.

Jaber is an experienced player having won the Israeli Super League and Israel Super Cup twice each, and having someone in the squad with that winning mentality would no doubt be a boost to Farke and his men.

The 25-year-old is also a senior international player for his country with ten caps under his belt so far.

However, while an attractive prospect on paper, you have to question whether this is the type of player that Leeds actually needs this January.

The Whites’ midfield is well-stocked at this time and with Ethan Ampadu looking to return from injury soon, they will need this extra player even less.
