Leeds United eye Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark with loan most likely
Bobby Clark is a loan target for Leeds United and several other Championship clubs this summer, according to The Athletic.
The online outlet reported on 3 August that Liverpool youngster Clark is expected to be on the move before the end of the transfer window, with a loan looking the most likely option for the midfielder at this stage.
Daniel Farke’s side are among the suitors for the 19-year-old England youth international, with Coventry City, Norwich City and Sheffield United also interested in bringing Clark to the second tier.
The Whites remain in the market for another midfielder after selling Glen Kamara to Rennes, with Farke yet to determine who will partner new captain Ethan Ampadu in the double-pivot position.
Bobby Clark loan to be final piece of Leeds United midfield jigsaw
Midfield is one of the few areas left to prioritise for the Whites this summer, with Farke wanting another player through the doors at Elland Road after Joe Rothwell’s arrival on loan from Bournemouth.
Dejan Ljubicic seemed to be United’s main target in this area of the pitch, with German side FC Koln rejecting a £3.4million bid for the Austrian international [Bild, 26 July], but Clark would be a much cheaper option.

Even with the impending sale of Crysencio Summerville for £25m [Dharmesh Sheth, 31 July], the Whites won’t be keen on spending too much of that amount on a player like Clark, who has just 14 senior club appearances to his name.
Going back in for Ljubicic looks likely, but Farke may feel more inclined to bring in Clark on a season-long loan, perhaps with a view to adding the 19-year-old on a permanent deal if the Whites are promoted in 2025.
A loan therefore seems to be the safest option in financial terms for the Whites, but with £25m about to hit their bank, fans will want to see the club re-investing to give Farke a promotion-winning squad.
