Leeds United ‘expected’ to sign Cameron Archer as transfer development emerges
Leeds United were well reported to have had an interest in signing Cameron Archer in the winter, though failed in their attempts to bring him to Elland Road.
Leeds shocked everyone in the winter when they didn’t sign anyone in the transfer window despite links to several players.
Archer was one of those linked with Leeds, though a move was never able to materialise for one reason or another, with Daniel Farke ultimately having to make do with the attacking options already at the club.
The Peacocks were said to be keen on his signature given the fact he can operate in several attacking positions while having an impressive goal record at Championship level.
However, that interest in the Southampton star is likely to surface again with a fresh update provided on the transfer.

Archer expected on the radar of Leeds this summer
While the likes of Joel Piroe have impressed for Leeds this season, attacking reinforcements will be a necessity regardless of which league they are in next.
As it stands, it looks likely to be a Premier League campaign for Leeds, which could provide them with the upper hand in the race to sign Archer.
2024/25 season | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Passes (Accuracy) |
Cameron Archer | 23 | 2 | 0 | 149 (81.9%) |
According to a report from GiveMeSport (24 February), the “expectation” is that Leeds will revisit the deal with Southampton all but set for relegation.
Archer is said to be keen on the move to Elland Road, and a deal could suit all parties, though Southampton may want to keep him around knowing the firepower that he can provide in the second division.
It will certainly be one to keep an eye on as the current campaign nears completion.

Daniel Farke will need attacking signings in the summer
Especially if Leeds are to get promoted, they need to add some quality in the final third and it appears as though they are aware of that.
Tammy Abraham is another to have been linked with the Whites, showcasing their desire to add extra bodies to the attacking half of the pitch.
If Leeds are to have a fighting chance of competing in the Premier League, it will likely hinge on the business they can conduct over the summer window.
