Leeds United expected to bid to make Tyler Adams next signing after one deal done
American journalist Tom Bogert expects Leeds United to make a bid to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams next after a deal was wrapped up for Brenden Aaronson.
On Thursday (26 May), Leeds confirmed Aaronson’s arrival on a permanent basis from Red Bull Salzburg.
As the American revolution continues in West Yorkshire, MLS and Guardian journalist Bogert predicts the Whites will make a move for 23-year-old midfielder Adams.
Writing via his personal Twitter account later on Thursday, Bogert said: “[I] think they’ll try for Adams, we’ll see though.
“He’s been in the CL for years with Leipzig so maybe a team in European [competition] will sway him.”
Another midfield addition
Adams is a deep-lying midfielder who’s sat in front of the RB Leipzig defender for the last couple of years.
He made 36 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig this season as they reached the Europa League semi-final, finished fourth in the Bundesliga and won the German Cup.
He’s an exciting young talent but he hasn’t been a regular starter for Jesse Marsch’s former club.

Adams definitely saw his game-time reduce after Marsch was sacked by Leipzig in early December.
And that might lead to him wanting to move on to join a manager who’s previously shown faith in him.
Aaronson’s presence at Elland Road could also be a factor but ultimately, the biggest issue is bound to be Leeds’ dispute with RB Leipzig over Jean-Kevin Augustin, which is yet to be clarified.
It remains to be seen if they’ll want to do business with the Whites again after what happened with the French striker.
Adams, though, could push for a move and that’s probably why Bogert, an expert on US football, is tipping Leeds to make a move for the former New York Red Bulls star.
