Leeds United exit close as Kalvin Phillips to undergo Manchester City medical on Friday
Kalvin Phillips is to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of leaving Leeds United on a permanent basis to join Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on Friday (1 July, page 74) that Phillips, 26, will undergo his medical tests ahead of completing a £45million move to the Etihad.
Phillips has been on holiday but it looks as though he’s returned now and is set to put the finishing touches to his move to the Premier League champions.

Sad day
Well, it seems as though we’ve finally reached the day where Phillips will be leaving Elland Road.
It’s definitely a sad day for the club because Phillips is a boyhood Leeds fan who’s spent his entire career at the Yorkshire outfit.
He’ll leave having made 233 appearances in all competitions for the Whites while also earning 22 caps with England.
Phillips played a major role in our promotion back to the Premier League as Championship title-winners and was also instrumental in his debut top-flight season.

Unfortunately, last term saw the England star miss a lot of games due to injury and that impacted not only his performances after he returned to action but also Leeds’ results.
We were almost relegated but thankfully we weren’t and that’s why we were able to get a much higher fee for the Yorkshire Pirlo.
However, we don’t feel as though £45million is enough for a player who was voted as England’s best in 2021.
Man City are getting the best deal here but it’s over to Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta to replace Phillips now.
And that’s going to be an almost impossible task.
In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has named two players the Whites would love to sign with the money from selling Phillips and Raphinha.
