Leeds United double exit on the cards for Kristensen and Llorente on Saturday, £6m development emerges

Roma could complete the signing of both Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen on loan from Leeds United according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, the Italian newspaper reported on page 13 (30 June) that while Kristensen’s loan should be straightforward, there could be some complications in the deal for Llorente.

Kristensen has already approved the move but as for Llorente, who has already spent some time on loan in Rome during the second half of last season, Leeds would like to insert a buy-clause.

The Whites would like to include an obligation for Jose Mourinho’s side to purchase the Spaniard for a fee of £6million if a certain number of appearances are reached.

This request by Leeds could now see any potential deal held up.

It seems only fair that Roma should agree to these conditions. Llorente spent some time with the club on loan last season and if the Italian side are interested in his services again, a purchase option at the least should be inserted in the deal.

Sending a player out on loan each year without any clarification over his future is not fair to either the player or the parent club. It causes a headache each transfer window and doesn’t allow for proper planning of the club’s own squad.

If the Spanish centre-back is to return to Rome once again, it suggests the Serie A side are clearly keen on the player, and Leeds are right to want to see that interest reflected in the terms of the loan agreement.

It will be interesting to see if this request holds up any potential loan deal for 25-year-old Kristensen.

In other Leeds United news, the club have named their price for another first-team star who is also attracting interest from Italy.
