Leeds United decide on leading transfer target in new twist

Leeds United are keen on adding to their ranks this summer as promotion to the Premier League is secured.

The Whites are on course to end the season with 100 points and will be hoping not to return to the second tier for the foreseeable future.

A striker is understood to be the priority for the Elland Road outfit as they’re eyeing reinforcements in the final third.

Cameron Archer is the leading transfer target for Leeds

According to TEAMtalk, Southampton striker Cameron Archer is, in many ways, the “leading target” for Leeds this summer.

The Whites attempted to sign him in January but the Saints were unwilling to part ways with him.

However, this has not stopped Leeds from retaining an interest in the 23-year-old, who they believe can be a real force in the Premier League.

An exit could now be on the cards for him as Southampton are relegated and the West Yorkshire club will be playing Premier League football.

He can play as a centre-forward as well as a right-winger, offering flexibility to Daniel Farke’s side.

Leeds United must make an enquiry into signing Archer

Archer would be a solid signing for Leeds following their promotion to the Premier League, offering a blend of youth, potential and proven quality to bolster their attack.

The 23-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance with three goals in 12 Premier League appearances this season, demonstrating his clinical finishing and ability to exploit spaces against top defences.

His versatility to play as a central striker or wide forward aligns with Farke’s fluid attacking system, complementing players like Joel Piroe and Willy Gnonto.

Archer’s experience in the Championship and Premier League proves he can handle high-pressure environments.

With Southampton open to a permanent sale and interest from other clubs, Leeds must act swiftly to secure Archer, whose hunger to establish himself could drive their survival bid in the Premier League.
