Leeds United: Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto transfer updates emerge

Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto would be on their way out if Leeds United fail to secure promotion, according to Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport journalist told Give Me Sport [22 March] that there could be top-flight teams looking to secure their services.

Currently, Leeds look to be on course to return to the Premier League as they sit atop the Championship standings.

Speaking about the scenario of Leeds not getting promoted back to the Premier League, Jones said: “Gnonto and Summerville would likely leave.”

Losing Gnonto and Summerville would be a huge loss for Leeds United

Despite not being a regular starter this season, Gnonto has managed to score nine senior goals in all competitions this season – seven of them in the league alone.

On the other hand, Summerville has been one of the Whites’ star players, spearheading the goals tally, having found the back of the net on 16 occasions and providing another eight assists.

Daniel Farke has done an admirable job in guiding the team thus far, but he’ll need to ensure that the squad remains focused and motivated, especially amidst the uncertainty of player departures.

He knows that losing two of the best attackers in the team is going to set his plans behind and it would not be an ideal scenario.

Maintaining team cohesion and morale will be crucial, as Leeds push for promotion to the Premier League.

Farke must rally his players, emphasising the importance of staying committed to the cause and delivering consistent performances until the end of the season.

Additionally, he’ll need to identify suitable replacements or alternative strategies to mitigate the loss of Summerville and Gnonto, but there’s a good chance it will not reach that situation.
