Leeds United: Crysencio Summerville £34m twist emerges with Arne Slot keen

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is keen on securing the services of Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville, according to Suleyman Ozturk.

The Voetbal International editor said in a video transcribed by FC Update on 25 March that despite Slot’s interest, Summerville will not be returning to Feyenoord, who won the league last season under Slot.

The 22-year-old is likely to cost north of £34million in the summer and would thus be moving to a bigger club if he does leave Elland Road.

Ozturk said: “I would like to see him at a higher level. He has developed fantastically over the past six months. He is fast and good on the outside, but also as a number ten. I think it should cost around 40million euros.

“He has become truly priceless for a club like Feyenoord, one of the best players in the Championship.”

Leeds United fight a crucial battle to retain Summerville’s services

While £34million is a significant windfall for a player who’s mainly showcased his brilliance in the Championship, Daniel Farke would want Leeds to retain his services.

Summerville’s impressive tally of 15 goals and eight assists in the Championship undoubtedly positions him as a strong contender for the Player of the Season award.

His contributions have been instrumental in Leeds’ campaign, showcasing his talent and potential to thrive at a higher level.

However, retaining Summerville’s services presents several challenges if they get promoted to the Premier League, they will face increased competition from top-flight clubs vying for his signature.

The top-flight sides with more financial resources might be willing to outbid Leeds for Summerville’s services, offering higher wages and the allure of top-flight football.

Even if Leeds remain in the Championship, there’s still the risk of losing Summerville to clubs from other leagues who are impressed by his performances and are willing to meet his valuation.

Additionally, Summerville himself might be enticed by the prospect of playing in a higher division, potentially making it difficult for Leeds to convince him to stay.
