Leeds United could end up making a move for Emmanuel Latte Lath after Middlesbrough's bid for Morgan Whittaker was accepted, Alex Crook has said.

The Whites have been linked with a move for the Boro attacker since the winter transfer window opened and now that Michael Carrick's side has reportedly had a £6million bid accepted for Whittaker, a deal for Latte Lath could be back on.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (24 January, 10:59am), talkSPORT reporter Crook shared his thoughts on the Whites potentially making a move for the Ivorian, who apparently wants to remain in England amid links to MLS side Atlanta United.

"Middlesbrough have had a bid accepted of £6million for Morgan Whittaker so it looks like he's on his way to Riverside," he said.

Troy Deeney then said: "I like Morgan, I think he's very good, that would suggest then Crooky that Emmanuel Latte Lath is off to Atlanta?"

Crook replied with: "I was told that had stalled a little bit because he'd prefer to stay in England, Leeds got mentioned to me as a potential destination obviously going all great guns at the top of the table."

Daniel Farke could do with some attacking reinforcement at Leeds United

Although Farke already has three number nines fighting to lead his attacking line, none of the trio have set the Championship alight this season.

Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe have been the German's preferred options this term while Bamford has been on the sidelines for most of the campaign due to injury.

Joe Gelhardt was another striker option Farke had but now he's out on loan to Hull until the end of the term, he's no longer the Whites' problem.

Even though Joseph and Piroe have done a decent job of leading Leeds' attacking line, it feels like there's still some room for a double-figure goal-scorer such as Latte Lath to make his way into the team.

The Boro attacker has played 28 Championship games already this term and has contributed to 14 goals thus far.

While his move to West Yorkshire wouldn't be cheap, it feels like he'd take Leeds up to a new level and give them even more dominance in the second tier.
