Leeds United could make Bartlomiej Drągowski offer if Illan Meslier departs after Hull City transfer update

Leeds United could make a bid to sign Spezia Calcio keeper Bartlomiej Dragowski in the January transfer window, according to Dominik Schneider.

The FussballTransfers journalist tweeted on Thursday (11 January) that the Polish international won’t join the Whites’ Championship rivals Hull City from the Serie B club due to his £18,000 per week salary.

But he added that it’s a “different story” for Daniel Farke’s side as they could make an offer for the 26-year-old if first-choice stopper Illan Meslier leaves Elland Road this month.

Prepared

It’s interesting to see that Leeds could be in the market to bring in another keeper during this transfer window following the links to Dragowski.

The interest means the club are likely preparing themselves for any potential offers for Mesleir as it’s extremely unlikely they would want three senior keepers at Elland Road.

It wouldn’t come as a massive surprise if some bids were to come in for the Frenchman after he was expected to leave the club last summer.

Leeds United

Dragowski would add plenty of experience after making 129 appearances in Seria A in his time with Spezia – alongside spells with Fiorentina and Empoli – before his current side dropped down to Italy’s second tier last season.

But there will almost certainly have to be some movement in the keeper department at the club first before he makes the move to West Yorkshire.
