Leeds United could complete Crysencio Summerville-like deal with Bazoumana Toure transfer

Carlton Palmer has urged Leeds United to sign Bazoumana Toure from Hammarby and repeat what they did with Crysencio Summerville.

The Whites are interested in the 18-year-old and are one of several English clubs that have sent scouts to watch the forward play, as per TBR Football [29 October].

In Sweden, the Ivorian has been impressive this season, and speaking to Football League World [31 October], Palmer believes it could be a good deal for the Peacocks if they manage to get him.

“Leeds United are looking for reinforcements for the second half of the season when they will hope to push on and gain promotion back to the Premier League,” Palmer said

“They have joined the race for 18-year-old winger Bazoumana Toure. Obviously, you look at the way Summerville has risen, this could convince the Elland Road hierarchy that he could go on and do the same.

“Apparently, they’ll let him go for £5million, so that’s a bargain for anybody to go and get this player.

“And he kicks on with his career, again you look at what Leeds have done with Summerville, and then you’re receiving £40-50m for the player.”

Leeds United should go for Bazoumana Toure

Summerville signed for the club as an 18-year-old from Feyenoord back in 2020 and went on to move to West Ham in the summer for £25m plus add-ons [BBC, 3 August].

Daniel Farke has built a strong foundation at Elland Road, and it seems like it will only be a matter of time before the club plays Premier League football again.

The German manager has developed some exciting talent at the Whites, with the likes of Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph and Largie Ramazani representing the team’s future.

While Farke has enjoyed much success in the Leeds dugout so far, what has been an issue for him has been the consistent injuries to key players, with Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev on the sidelines at the moment.

The Whites have lacked depth in their squad, as can be seen up front with the team lacking a quality number nine.

Patrick Bamford has returned this season after his long injury, but the Englishman is clearly not the player he once was.

While Gnonto and Ramazani have provided flair up front, the Peacocks could arguably do with more threat up front.

Bazoumana has nine goals and four assists in 21 appearances for Hammarby, and while the Championship would likely represent a step up in quality, the 18-year-old has shown enough potential to be considered by the recruitment team at the club.

In other Leeds news, the Whites may have found a long-term successor to Bamford.
