Leeds United confident of signing Rasmus Kristensen from RB Salzburg – Yorkshire Evening Post
Leeds United are confident of signing Rasmus Kristensen from RB Salzburg this summer, but face a battle with Brentford to get a deal done.
The 24-year-old Danish full-back has emerged as a target after injuries to Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling [The Athletic, May 31] and could be available for as little as £10m.
And now the Yorkshire Evening Post [May 31] have confirmed the club’s interest and say they are ‘confident of moving forward with negotiations’ for Kristensen this summer.

The report suggests that both Brentford and Borussia Dortmund are also showing an interest, but the player worked under Jesse Marsch for two seasons and that could tip him towards Elland Road.
The Whites have also already signed Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg this summer, so the relationship between the clubs is good and confidence is high that a deal can now be done.
Depth
Full-back was a bit of a problem position last season for Leeds, but there is hope now that the club will be able to strengthen well during the summer.
Ayling and Dallas are likely to miss the start of the season after undergoing surgeries, and Junior Firpo has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since joining from Barcelona last summer.

Cody Drameh enjoyed a great loan spell with Cardiff and Jamie Shackleton has got the versatility to fill in if needed, but the squad need to strengthen and Kristensen can do that.
He will also help the summer’s marquee signing settle in better and won’t need to do so much adapting to the system having worked with Marsch already.
It’s a deal that makes a lot of sense for all parties and if the Whites can get it over the line then they’ll be much better off for it.
