Leeds United close in on Roland Sallai transfer, discount on the cards for ace who wants move
Roland Sallai wants to secure a late transfer to Leeds United ahead of the close of the window, HITC reports.
According to the outlet’s website on 29 August the Hungary international hopes to be a Whites player by the time Daniel Farke’s side play Hull City at the weekend, with his club looking for £10million to let him go.
The two sides are said to not be far apart in their valuations of the 27-year-old winger and there is a belief that a discount can be secured due to him being in the final year of his contract.
Talks are ongoing over a late deal, in addition to the imminent £4million arrival of Ao Tanaka from Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Leeds United on the brink of Ao Tanaka signing
They’ve left it late but it looks like the vital incoming business of the transfer window is falling into place in the final days at Elland Road.
If Tanaka signs and Isaac Schmidt completes a move in after that would fulfil the final two signings that Farke confirmed he “definitely” needed on 29 August [Leeds Live].
Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon have given the German a pair of much-needed attacking reinforcements but he is surely not going to protest if the 49ers get him extra ammunition going forward.
Despite the emergence of Mateo Joseph at striker the manager might like another number nine, given Patrick Bamford’s struggles with injury and Joel Piroe’s lack of form.

But Sallai could be a valuable addition as a senior international who caught the eye playing a leading role for Hungary at Euro 2024.
His eagerness to make the move will certainly make him that much more of an attractive option, and if he can be secured at a discount it might be an opportunity the club can’t pass up.
