Leeds United close in on Facundo Buonanotte transfer ahead of late frenzy
Leeds United have made no secret of their desire to sign new attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.
Daniel Farke has welcomed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor in recent weeks, with the latter already an injury doubt at Elland Road.
The German has flirted with the possibility of signing a new number 10, despite changing his system in the Premier League to a more defensive midfield.
That could all be about to change with Facundo Buonanotte.

Leeds United ready to sign Facundo Buonanotte
Graham Smyth reported earlier on Thursday that Leeds may only make one more signing this summer, unless late opportunities arise.
Brighton making the Argentinian forward available for loan could be one of those opportunities.
Alex Crook has reported on 28 August that Leeds are now closer to signing Buonanotte, with a loan move most likely from the AMEX Stadium.
West Ham are also interested in Buonanotte, so it would be a real coup to bring him to Elland Road ahead of possible Premier League relegation rivals.
Why Buonanotte is needed at Leeds United
Farke should take the crushing defeat at Arsenal and the embarrassing collapse at Sheffield Wednesday as a major warning to his role at Leeds.
The likes of Brenden Aaronson and Joel Piroe are other options to play in a more advanced playmaker role, but both have already struggled immensely in all competitions.
Buonanotte would arrive at Elland Road as not only an option for that role, but also able to play out wide, as he proved to great success during his time at Leicester last season.

Looking at his shot map from the 2024/25 Premier League season, Buonanotte was clearly not afraid to get on the ball and try to make things happen for himself.
The 20-year-old has heaps of confidence, with several long-range efforts, as well as his five goals from inside the box for the Foxes.
With Leeds closing in on Buonanotte, fans will hope he is the first of many before Monday.
