Leeds United chiefs ready to strike transfer for Davie Selke after what he just did

Leeds United, Fulham and West Ham are among the clubs linked with a move for Hamburg striker Davie Selke.

The Whites have secured promotion and are eyeing a new forward to give themselves the best chance of avoiding the drop.

The German “goal-machine” fired his side back to the Bundesliga this past season by scoring 21 goals in 32 games.

Leeds chiefs now in direct contact to sign Selke

According to the Express (2 June), Leeds, along with Fulham and West Ham, have all expressed interest in the 30-year-old.

His deal at the newly-promoted side runs out at the end of the month and he’s not yet reached an agreement with them for an extension.

This means that the Whites can now secure his services on a free transfer.

Leeds United have been in direct contact to explore Selke’s personal demands ahead of potentially making a move for him.

While Watford are also keen on securing his services, a move to the Championship is not likely on the cards for him as he’s got suitors in the Championship.

Selke would be a welcome addition to Elland Road

Leeds’ potential signing of Selke is a no-brainer due to his proven goal-scoring prowess and Premier League suitability.

The 30-year-old German striker brings a lethal aerial threat and strong hold-up play at 6ft 5in.

His experience and physicality align perfectly with the demands of English football, offering Leeds a reliable focal point in attack.

With Patrick Bamford’s injury concerns and potential exit and Joel Piroe’s unproven top-flight record, Selke’s addition addresses a critical need upfront.

His ability to create and score, honed over a 12-year career, could bolster Leeds’ offensive output, crucial for avoiding relegation.

With interest from West Ham and Fulham, securing Selke without a transfer fee is a cost-effective move, giving Daniel Farke’s side a fighting chance to defy the trend of promoted teams dropping back down.

It’s good to see the Elland Road chiefs in direct contact as they’re making their intentions clear that they want to secure his services ahead of the competition.
