Leeds United can strike for James Justin as positive injury update emerges

Leicester City right-back James Justin could potentially still be on his way to Leeds United despite picking up an injury.

The 27-year-old picked up a knock as Marti Cifuentes’ team lost 2-1 to Preston North End in the Championship on 16 August.

A serious fitness issue could affect Justin’s move to Elland Road in the coming weeks, with the Whites advancing in talks for the defender.

While Ipswich Town’s Ben Johnson and Chelsea’s Alfie Gilchrist may be some of the alternatives the West Yorkshire outfit could look at, they possibly won’t have to pursue other targets.

James Justin injury could be short-term amid Leeds United transfer interest

Justin’s injury at Leicester may not be as severe as once feared as Leeds plot a move.

According to the Daily Mail on 19 August, there are hopes that the English right-back’s issues are only short-term, giving the Whites’ hierarchy an evident boost.

The news outlet reports that the West Yorkshire outfit are assessing a move for the 27-year-old at Elland Road, and they may be able to get a deal over the line before the end of August.

It will be interesting to see how the defender’s situation at the East Midlands outfit will unfold, but he will certainly be a valuable addition for Daniel Farke.

Jayden Bogle to finally have competition after James Justin transfer

Isaac Schmidt wants to leave Leeds this summer, and the Whites are looking for a replacement before sanctioning his exit.

The Switzerland international played just 71 minutes in the Championship last season as he was clearly deemed not good enough by Farke.

Justin would bring plenty of Premier League experience with him if the West Yorkshire outfit signed him.

Leeds could also use the Englishman’s versatility to good use, as he’s capable of playing across the backline.

Schmidt could be allowed to leave once Justin makes his way to Elland Road, but it remains to be seen how the Leicester defender’s situation unfolds.

Jayden Bogle arguably hasn’t had much competition for a place in the starting lineup, but the 27-year-old may be able to push the former Sheffield United star to further improve.
