Leeds United can solve Daniel Farke problem instantly amid Lloyd Kelly transfer update

Published on

Leeds United could help plug a gap for Daniel Farke as Juventus defender Lloyd Kelly emerges as a new target.

Leeds are set to say goodbye to Pascal Struijk, who is heading to fellow Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion for £15million.

The Whites were already looking to sign a new centre-back, so it is likely that a couple will now have to be brought in before the window closes.

Kelly could well be one of those players as his time in Italy with Juventus appears to be coming to an end.

The former England Under-21s international joined Juve for a reported £20m in June 2025 following a six-month spell on loan.

It may well be that Kelly is heading back to the Premier League, with movement as early as this Tuesday due to a deadline in place.

Juve await 'significant' offers as Leeds target Lloyd Kelly

Kelly still has three years to run on his contract at the Allianz Stadium.

The 27-year-old started nine times in the Champions League for Juve last season and featured 35 times in Serie A.

Despite being used regularly, Tuttomercatoweb journalist Marco Conterio reported via X on Monday that Kelly could be on his way out of Turin.

Kelly is said to be attracting admirers in Spain and England, with Leeds the only side named as showing a "concrete interest".

While Juve have no urgency to sell, they would do so before the end of Tuesday if a "significant offer" arrives as they look to balance their books.

While Kelly's name may not get Leeds fans too excited, the links do appear to make sense.

Kelly would tick key box for Daniel Farke and Leeds

Losing Struijk is a massive blow for Leeds, with a left-footed defender now needed.

That perhaps explains why Kelly, a left-footed defender who can also operate at left-back, is being targeted.

Even if Kelly is not a regular starter, he would be a superb back-up option to call upon - a box Farke could really do with ticking off as competition is needed.

The big question is how much Juve would want for Kelly, but there is still plenty of time for a fee to be negotiated if Leeds' interest is very much serious.
