Leeds United bid update emerges on Connor Roberts after Jayden Bogle transfer news
Leeds United have yet to discuss a bid with Burnley for right-back Connor Roberts, according to Alan Nixon.
The Clarets defender spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan with the Whites, who missed out on promotion back to the Premier League after losing the play-off final to Southampton.
However, journalist Nixon reported on his Patreon (14 July) that Leeds haven’t discussed making it a full transfer as yet.
It comes after reports emerged that Leeds are tracking Sheffield United full-back Jayden Bogle (Mike McGrath on X, 13 July), who Nixon said is valued at £7million by the Blades.
Leeds United moving on from Burnley defender Connor Roberts?
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth shared only this week (Inside Elland Road podcast, 9 July) that there was nothing imminent on Leeds’ interest on Roberts and that a return is not immediately on the cards.
It now appears that Daniel Farke and his transfer team have identified a different option at full-back in the form of Blades defender Bogle and, if a deal for the former Derby County man gets done, then the likelihood of Roberts joining decreases even further.
Roberts struggled to get into the starting XI last season as Farke often plumped to use Archie Gray at right-back rather than his more favoured position of central midfield.

Right-back was already an area that Farke would have been looking to address even before Gray was sold to Tottenham, though, and it’s clear that is going to be a priority in the window.
The only slight surprise right now is that Roberts doesn’t appear to be a priority to solve that gap.
