Leeds United back-up option named if Jonathan Rowe transfer fails
Leeds United could come in to try and sign Crystal Palace star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan if they don’t land Jonathan Rowe, according to Alan Nixon.
In a post on his Patreon page (6 August), Nixon claimed that Leeds will make a push to sign Rak-Sakyi – once labelled “phenomenal” by his old Charlton Athletic boss Dean Holden (I had trials once podcast, via South London News) – if they can’t get a deal for Norwich City forward Rowe over the line.
It comes just a few days on from initial reports that Leeds are interested in the 21-year-old (Sky Sports, 1 August).
Leeds United keep their options open
Based on recent evidence, it seems as if Leeds are the frontrunners to land Rowe. Alas, it’s always good to have options. It’s also pretty clear to see that Daniel Farke is moving quickly to replace Crysencio Summerville. That’s easier said than done but based on the gaffer’s track record, it’s certainly possible.

There are a handful of exciting wingers who they’re targeting as a direct replacement. That’s not a bad strategy, either, but it may well come down to experience.
Both men are 21 years old, but they’ve had different journeys. Rak-Sakyi made six Premier League appearances last season (FBref), whereas Rowe made 32 in the Championship (FBref). Plus, the Canaries superstar scored 12 goals to run alongside two assists.
Rak-Sakyi has had time in the lower leagues too, specifically League One with Charlton Athletic. Alas, while sticking with Rowe seems like a smart option, it doesn’t seem like the club can go too far wrong here.
In other Leeds United news, another Whites-linked ace has been backed to snub Leicester and head to Elland Road.
