Leeds United await official announcement on Jack Harrison exit as new loan terms agreed

Jack Harrison is set to join Everton on loan for the season from Leeds United as details of the agreement have been revealed by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Joe Donnohue reported on the newspaper’s online edition (19 June) that the Toffees will cover the full wage for the winger throughout the season.

He has also suggested that this will free up the Whites to conduct their own summer business by way of additions to the squad.

The deal is “simple to conclude” given that the 27-year-old’s loan release clause remained active this summer.

A deal is now close to completion with an official announcement from both clubs set to follow.

Jack Harrison loaned back to Everton by Leeds United

With a release clause in his contract, it appears that Daniel Farke had little choice but to let the Englishman depart this summer.

Given that he has struggled with injury in recent years, his value could drop ahead of a potential permanent deal next season.

He had a positive spell at Goodison Park last campaign that has seen Sean Dyche look to bring him back in as soon as possible.

Leeds fans may have been keen to keep hold of Harrison to see him have an impact on the squad in the Championship.

It seems that he is intent on playing in the Premier League, however, and the release clause in his contract is evidence of that.

Daniel Farke may hope that he has a great campaign for Everton in his second season ahead of his Elland Road return next year.

If Leeds aren’t promoted they would at least be able to sell him on for a useful fee if he has a positive season.
