Charlie Cresswell is on his way out of Leeds United this summer and will be a transfer target for clubs in France and Germany, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported via his Patreon page (9 June) that the young defender is heading for the Elland Road exit door this summer having struggled to play a regular part under Daniel Farke last season.

Ligue 1 side Toulouse are interested in signing the England youth international while Bundesliga sides Hannover and Hertha Berlin could also submit bids when the summer transfer window opens.

Farke's side will hope to receive a fee of around £3million for Cresswell's services and any potential exit will likely include extra add-ons.

Will Charlie Cresswell leave Leeds United in the summer transfer window?

Leeds United are going to have to sell players this summer to balance the books at Elland Road and while Cresswell won't be the biggest name to depart, he represents an opportunity for the Whites to make a pretty penny.

The defender seems to be highly thought of by everyone other than Farke. The German has never trusted him in his first team and that is unlikely to change, especially with Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk impressing for much of the season.

At his age now, Cresswell will more than likely want to be playing regular first-team football and for whatever reason, that isn't going to happen at Leeds. A move away this summer would be the best for all parties.

Whether or not any of the European clubs mentioned will be willing to match the Whites' £3million valuation remains to be seen, but it feels like somebody will snap up the centre-back for that price this summer.

Hopefully, any deal can be completed smoothly and quickly to ensure that the Whites can turn their attentions to potential incomings.
