Leeds United: Archie Gray could leave as multi-million price tag emerges amid Bayern Munich interest

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Leeds United starlet Archie Gray and believe he would cost up to £51.4m, according to SportBILD.

Writing on their website (3 April), the German news outlet report that the Bundesliga champions and La Liga champions Real Madrid have been watching the 18-year-old midfielder as per reports from HITC.

But they have added that the Whites would expect a transfer fee of between £38.5m and £51.4m to allow Gray to leave this summer after they handed him a fresh contract earlier this year.

“Gray only extended his contract in Leeds until 2028 at the beginning of the year,” they wrote.

“It goes without saying that there is already speculation in the media about a possible transfer fee. This should be between €45m (£38.5m) and €60 million (£51.4m). Trend: rising steeply.”

Leeds should demand double that amount for Archie Gray

There aren’t many teenagers who have a better body of work than Gray in world football right now, nd that new contract he was given was a certainty after the way he performed so far.

Gray started the season in central midfield and was dominant before proving his quality and versatility by switching to right-back under Daniel Farke and becoming an integral part of the team.

Despite only signing fresh terms earlier this year, a new contract could very well be on the cards for Gray at Elland Road to reflect his importance to the team and the future of the club.

There is no bigger asset to the club than Gray right now, and despite his age and lack of experience at the highest level he could easily command a fee of at least £60m if not more.

If top clubs aren’t willing to go that high then it’s no issue for Leeds as there is no pressure for them to sell, and the player is more than happy. So that should be the aim. Keep him at Elland Road unless someone makes an offer that is undeniable.
