Leeds United and Manchester United transfer news as scouts sent to watch goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt
Scouts from Leeds United and Manchester United were present to watch Odds BK goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt on Sunday (30 April), according to Scouts in Attendance.
Leeds United currently have Illan Meslier and Joel Robles as their first-team options in between the sticks, but the Frenchman has come under increasing pressure after shipping 23 goals in April.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday (30 April), Scouts in Attendance shared that the Whites had scouted Wahlstedt, 23, while recording a clean sheet for Norwegian side Odds BK against Rosenborg.

“Manchester United scouted Odds BK goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt on Sunday, Leeds United scout also meant to be in attendance,” they wrote.
Change needed
Leeds United are a shambles right now, and this is most evident in between the sticks after Meslier’s poor run of form.
There is no doubting the young Frenchman has been a standout player at times for the club over the last two seasons, but his confidence is shot right now after conceding goal after goal in the Premier League.
However, if the Whites were to make a change, Robles would be the man who would take the reins, and this still won’t fill fans with confidence.
A swoop for a goalkeeper this summer therefore makes a lot of sense, and Wahlstedt has popped up as a viable alternative.
With Manchester United also in attendance and Liverpool previously being linked with his services (Caught Offside, 6 April), the Swedish international is a popular asset right now.
Leeds’ Premier League status would certainly have to be secured to compete in Wahlstedt’s signing, but it is still a glimmer of positivity that the club are working behind the scenes to initiate some change at the back.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a surgery update that could rule another Elland Road ace out for months.
