Leeds United agree ‘massive’ Joe Rodon and Archie Gray transfer with announcement soon
Leeds United are set to sign Joe Rodon on a permanent deal as part of the “Massive” deal to sell Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur, according to TBR Football.
The report on 1 July confirms Rodon will return to Elland Road after his loan spell alongside a fee of around £35-40m from Spurs for Gray, an “unprecedented” deal for a Championship side.
Rodon played 50 matches in all competitions on loan at Leeds last season, with an announcement likely at the start of this week.
There was Premier League interest in the Welshman, but Rodon enjoyed life in West Yorkshire last term and personal terms are very unlikely to be an issue.
Leeds United getting good return on Archie Gray transfer
With Gray set to undergo his medical at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and confirmation imminent, Leeds United will be sad to see one of their academy’s most exciting prospects in years depart the club.
However, with PSR ruling clamping down on clubs, Leeds knew they would be forced to sell at least one of their big hitters following failure to secure an immediate Premier League return.
The club are certainly receiving a decent return on Gray, with the most cash anyone has received as a Championship club for a player plus a proven centre-half in Rodon.

This is a deal all parties will be satisfied with, and falls in line with the 30 June accounting deadline due to negotiations beginning before the end of the month.
The deal could perhaps even have saved Leeds any consequent sanctions, after the Brentford move for Gray collapsed.
