Leeds United agree Crysencio Summerville sale as West Ham medical scheduled
Crysencio Summerville is on the verge of exiting Leeds United as a medical has now been scheduled with West Ham United, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via his personal X account on Wednesday (31 July) that Leeds and West Ham have reached an agreement over a deal.
Sheth added that Summerville will now undergo a medical with the Irons in the next 24 hours and, should there be no setbacks, he will link up with his new team-mates on their US tour.
Crysencio Summerville exit was inevitable
Even with the sale of Archie Gray, it felt Leeds were never really going to be able to keep Summerville out of the clutches of Premier League clubs.
The Dutchman was the best player in the Championship last season and is more than capable of again making an impact in the Premier League.
If there is to be any positive from this seemingly imminent exit, it is that it has come more than a week out from the campaign beginning.
More importantly, there is a month left of the transfer window to run, so there are no excuses not to bring in a replacement.
Replacing Summerville with a like-for-like option in attack will be next to impossible, of course, but his sale should at least free up plenty of funds.
West Ham seem to be a good fit for the Leeds fan favourite, given that they are a club challenging for European football and a club that he will start regularly for.
Assuming there are no problems with the medical, Leeds fans should wish Summerville all the best in the next stage of his career.
In other Leeds news, a player was still spotted in Germany after the end of the club’s pre-season tour.
