Leeds United agree £6.8m deal with Rennes to sell Glen Kamara
Leeds United have agreed to sell Glen Kamara to Rennes for just £6.8million, according to Ouest-France.
Writing on their website (13 July), the French news outlet report that a deal for the Finland international is worth between €7-8million rather than the €10million (£8.6million) that Fabrzio Romano reported previously [13 July].
Personal terms are already agreed for the 28-year-old to leave Elland Road, just 12 months after joining from Rangers in a £5million deal.
Leeds United Glen Kamara exit looks worse with every detail
After agreeing to sell Archie Gray to Tottenham for £40million, the belief was that all sales would now be on their terms and Leeds would be tough negotiators.
After Gray’s exit it meant that Daniel Farke only had Kamara, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev as midfield options for the upcoming season, and then Joe Rothwell was added on a season-long loan from Bournemouth.
But with Kamara allowed to leave for a relatively measly fee, it weakens the squad quite greatly and increases the need for more transfer business in that position.

The initial deal for £8.6million sounded good because it was a big increase on the money paid last summer, but this is a small profit now and is an odd deal.
Unless Kamara was pushing for an exit then it wouldn’t make any sense. But the 49ers and Farke now have a huge job on their hands to make the squad as strong as it was last season.
