Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville ‘admired’ by Crystal Palace, Eagles ‘assessing’ options

Crystal Palace are interested in Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville, according to Mike McGrath.

The Daily Telegraph reporter shared the update via his personal Twitter account (25 July), which reveals that the Netherlands Under-21 international has admirers at the Premier League club.

However, before any deal can be explored, Palace must determine Leeds’ plans for the 21-year-old next season.

Summerville showed plenty of promise last season and is likely to be a big part of Daniel Farke’s plans for the upcoming campaign, which could make a deal difficult.

Interest

At this moment in time, it seems as if Palace’s interest in Summerville is simply just that, interest. McGrath did not make any suggestion that an official approach has been made by the London club.

The Whites signed Summerville for the club’s Under-21 side when he was an Under-19 at Feyenoord in the summer of 2020 and he was promoted to the first-team squad a year later.

During the 2021/22 season, he began to make his way into the first-team picture, appearing six times in the Premier League, as a substitute on each occasion.

Last season, Summerville became a bigger part of the senior squad and made 12 Premier League starts among his 28 appearances in the competition, scoring on four occasions and providing two assists.

He is certainly a player with potential and it is no surprise there is interest from Palace, however, he could certainly be a useful asset to Farke next season and could thrive in the Championship.

If they can afford to, Leeds should do everything in their power to keep hold of him.

In other Leeds United news, the club must move for a defender who is ready for the ‘next step.’
