Leeds transfer targets after new Sky Sports update, including player Frank Lampard is huge fan of

Leeds United already have one eye on the January transfer window, which is set open in 12 weeks’ time.

Daniel Farke’s side have started the Premier League season positively enough, even if Leeds did go down 2-1 to Tottenham last time out.

A number of players, including Kobbie Mainoo, continue to be linked with a move to Leeds ahead of the New Year.

But in an update shared by Sky Sports News on Tuesday, it appears a winger is the top transfer priority for Leeds.

With that in mind, MOT Leeds News picks out three wingers recently linked with Leeds who could be back on the radar.

Harry Wilson still wanted by Leeds

The same update by Sky Sports suggested Harry Wilson remains a target for Leeds, with the Whites having missed out on the Welshman late in the summer.

Leeds left it too late to sign Wilson from Fulham, but he is out of contract at the end of the season and could therefore be available for a relatively cheap sum in January.

Wilson would certainly feel at home at Elland Road given the number of Wales internationals already in place.

The 28-year-old has scored one goal in seven Premier League appearances this season. While that does not sound great on the face of it, he has not been given a consistent run of starts.

At Leeds, it may well be that versatile attacker Wilson provides that bit of extra quality needed in the final third.

Lorenzo Pellegrini would get Leeds fans excited

A higher-profile option would be Roma ace Lorenzo Pellegrini, who plays either through the middle or our on the left.

Pellegrini was tipped with a January move to Leeds recently and is another player who is out of contract in the summer of 2026.

While he may not have experience of English football, he certainly boasts plenty of experience in Serie A and that could come in handy at Leeds.

It remains to be seen exactly how much it would cost to prise him away from Roma, but a deal certainly looks achievable.

Gus Hamer to Leeds links refuse to go away

Gus Hamer is another of those who seemingly got away from Leeds in the summer, as he instead stayed put at Sheffield United.

Given how badly the Blades have started this season, you would not bet against Hamer wanting out in January.

Speaking earlier this year, Frank Lampard gave a good insight into exactly what type of player Hamer is.

He’s really good, a very, very high-level player. And his position will be interesting in terms of where he plays. He tends to drift off the left,” Lampard said, as per Coventry Live.

“He’s a player that will give you problems behind your midfield, amongst other things, and can find the last pass and the finish very well. So my understanding of him was pretty good before, but very good now.”

Hamer has slightly longer on his contract compared to the other two names mentioned, as he is tied down at Bramall Lane until the end of next season.

If Farke has a say in a matter, it may well be that Hamer is his go-to man.
