Leeds transfer round-up: Patrick Bamford reacts as medical completed for deal

Leeds United are making significant progress in the transfer window.

Daniel Farke is the man tasked with keeping Leeds in the Premier League this season, though his ability to do so will largely be determined by the business the Whites can do in the transfer window.

So far, Leeds have made several additions, while being linked with countless others, and with pre-season set to enter full swing, Farke will be keen on seeing those plans accelerated.

With that in mind, MOT Leeds News rounds up all of the latest transfer stories to have emerged from Elland Road.

Man City defender poised for Leeds switch

Leeds’ first priority will be to sign players capable of having an immediate impact at Elland Road, though one eye also has to be on the future.

It seems as though the Whites haven’t forgotten about the latter, with it reported that a fee has been agreed for the signing of Man City full-back Jayden Lienou.

Leeds have agreed a six-figure package for the 17-year-old, who will be expected to join up with the Whites’ Under-21 side when a deal is complete.

Lienou will join a very promising youth set-up at Thorp Arch, with hopes that he can progress as the season goes on and potentially stake a claim for his place under Farke.

Sean Longstaff agreement reached as Newcastle exit looms

Leeds are in the market for midfield signings this summer, and Sean Longstaff is one of those to be heavily linked with a move.

Now, it has been reported that the Whites have reached an agreement for his arrival, with a £12million bid accepted by Newcastle.

Longstaff hardly featured last season

Longstaff has made 214 appearances for his boyhood club, but struggled for game time last season, given the quality ahead of him, making just eight starts in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old would be a welcome addition to Elland Road, and the type of signing that Leeds need more of.

Patrick Bamford reacts as Leeds deal done

Patrick Bamford’s future remains up in the air this summer, though the same can no longer be said about Gabriel Gudmundsson, who became Leeds’ fourth signing of the summer.

The Swedish international underwent a medical at Thorp Arch (8 July), before putting pen to paper to seal his move from Lille.

Leeds United took to their official Instagram page to welcome Gudmundsson to the Yorkshire club, and Bamford was quick to react to the news, with the striker liking the post.
