Leeds transfer round-up: Leicester player wanted, £30m bid needed for next deal

Leeds United’s transfer window has become very chaotic over recent days.

Leeds appeared to be landing a marquee signing in Igor Paixao from Feyenoord, but the Brazilian winger opted for a move to Marseille instead.

United have not wasted any time when it comes to searching for alternative targets, though, with Daniel Farke’s squad still needing additions despite other wingers such as Willy Gnonto impressing in pre-season.

James Justin linked with a move to Leeds

Following the signing of Gabriel Gudmundsson, Leeds have their new first-choice left-back after the club opted to let Junior Firpo go on a free transfer.

Leeds are incredibly short of quality backup options in this area, however, with Sam Byram currently being Farke’s second-choice left-back.

Justin has now been linked with a move from Leicester, with the defender being able to provide cover at both left and right-back.

Isaac Schmidt has also been linked with a move away on loan, meaning that even if Justin were to sign, Leeds may need to bring in yet another full-back as cover alongside Justin.

Leeds told to pay £30m for Roma striker Dovbyk

With United’s relentless pursuit of a winger in Paixao, it almost distracted from the fact that a statement signing is needed to lead the line for Leeds in the Premier League.

Leeds have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk from Roma, with the Italian club reportedly willing to cash in on the 28-year-old for £30million.

With the likes of Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford evidently not having futures in LS11, bringing another striker in would be a wise move from the 49ers.

Calvert-Lewin’s Leeds wage demands revealed

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another forward who has been linked with a move to Elland Road following his departure from Everton.

It has now been suggested that Calvert-Lewin was asking for around £150k a week ahead of a potential move.

Considering his goal and injury record as of late, Leeds looked to have done the right thing and moved on from discussions with the 28-year-old, with Lukas Nmecha coming in on a free transfer to provide cover up top instead.
