Leeds transfer round-up: ‘Glaring’ Daniel Farke issue as 49ers surprised by approach

Leeds United confirmed some more winter transfer business on Monday as Jack Harrison completed his loan move to Fiorentina.

Harrison has joined the Serie A strugglers on loan until the end of the season with the option to buy for around £6million.

The winger joins Harry Gray in departing Elland Road on loan this month, while Facundo Buonanotte is so far the only addition.

That could soon be about to change, though, following another busy day of transfer activity concerning Leeds.

Leeds could offer player plus cash deal for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Eyebrows were raised last week when news first emerged of Leeds being interested in Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

With Wolves seemingly valuing the far-from-prolific attacker in the region of £40m, it means Leeds will have to get savvy with any offers.

An update shared on Monday suggests that Leeds could table a player-plus-cash deal for Strand Larsen before the window closes.

That would enable Leeds to avoid breaching PSR, although it remains to be seen whether Wolves would be willing to accept such a deal.

Leeds in hunt to sign player Crystal Palace want as Marc Guehi replacement

The big transfer news elsewhere in the Premier League on Monday was Marc Guehi’s move from Crystal Palace to Manchester City going through.

Palace are said to have now targeted Fenerbahce centre-back Jayden Oosterwolde as a replacement for Guehi.

However, Leeds are also credited with an interest in Oosterwolde, as are Nottingham Forest and Italian side Roma.

That could lead to a bidding war of sorts for Oosterwolde, although no official offers have been tabled by any side as of yet.

Daniel Farke has glaring Leeds concern as £15m transfer to have consequences

Farke made a major call at the weekend in leaving Lucas Perri out of Leeds’ starting line-up to face Fulham.

Karl Darlow was instead brought in and kept a much-needed clean sheet, likely meaning he retains his spot for the trip to Everton in a week’s time.

According to Athletic journalist Beren Cross, Perri’s situation is now a “glaring concern” for Leeds and Farke in the summer.

Illan Meslier looks certain to depart either this month or at the end of the season, but it is becoming apparent that Perri is also not the man to become number one.

How Leeds responded to Celtic’s response for Joel Piroe amid Rangers connections

Celtic last week made an approach to sign Joel Piroe, who has fallen down the pecking order since Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League.

However, given the 49ers also own Rangers, it seemed strange that Celtic would ever think they could do business with Leeds.

And so that has proved, with Sky Sports reporting on Monday that Leeds were surprised by Celtic’s approach for Piroe.

It is claimed that the 49ers considered it a “non-starter”, although that does not necessarily mean Piroe will not find a new home before the window closes.
