Leeds transfer chiefs send message to agents as new Troy Parrott update drops

Leeds United have a definite interest in AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott ahead of the winter transfer window.

The former Tottenham ace has admirers among the Whites’ backroom staff after his heroics for the Republic of Ireland in the recent international break, keeping their World Cup hopes alive after scoring a brace against Portugal and a hat-trick against Hungary.

Parrott is a leading target at Elland Road, but VfB Stuttgart and other Bundesliga teams are also in the race for his signature.

Daniel Farke wants 49ers Enterprises to sign a new forward in January, and the 23-year-old seems like the perfect option for them.

Leeds United want January signings who can hit the ground running

Leeds’ recruitment department have told agents that they want players who are ‘ready to make an impact’, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reports on 31 December that the Elland Road hierarchy don’t want to wait for new signings to settle in as they contend with Premier League relegation.

Parrott is someone who can certainly make a difference at the Whites after scoring 16 goals in 22 games for AZ this season.

While Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form has undoubtedly helped Farke, it seems like the German manager wants attacking reinforcements in LS11 in the coming weeks.

While goalscoring hasn’t been an issue for the West Yorkshire outfit as of late, they seem to lack depth up front.

Lukas Nmecha only recently returned from injury, while Dan James is expected to be sidelined for much longer, and it doesn’t look like Farke trusts Wilfried Gnonto a lot.

Troy Parrott seems destined for Elland Road after PSR update

Alkmaar wanted Leeds to pay around £26million for Parrott in the summer, and they may now be willing to do so.

While it’s been claimed that the Whites would prefer to sign players on loan with an option or obligation to buy in the winter transfer window, they can find around £25m for the right player.

The profile of players the West Yorkshire outfit are reportedly looking at are those who are 25 or under, and the Irishman certainly fits that criteria.

The striker’s situation in the Netherlands will be one to keep a close watch on in LS11 with the new year just around the corner.
