Leeds told to pay £125,000-a-week ages to seal next Daniel Farke signing after £32m bid

Leeds United appear keen to add to their summer spend before the window slams shut.

The Whites have confirmed seven signings to this point, but don’t appear to be done with their efforts to add to their squad.

With opening night against Everton just over a week away, Daniel Farke certainly has a number of decisions to make in the market before then.

It appears that a sizable deal could be in the pipeline, but only if the Elland Road club are willing to pay the sizable fee they’ve been quoted.

Leeds’ transfer ultimatum

Despite bringing in a number of fresh faces, the LS11 outfit are yet to add any sort of true quality to their forward line this summer.

A move for Lukas Nmecha will add depth, but his general lack of output in recent years represents a concern among supporters.

As a result, making a swoop for an alternative striker target is certainly something that feels necessary ahead of a return to Premier League action.

To this stage, there are no concrete links, but previously Leeds were strongly linked with a move for Rodrigo Muniz at Fulham.

The Mail Online have reported (8 August) that the Whites had a £32million offer rejected by the Cottagers earlier in the window, with Newcastle United now showing a faint interest.

Marco Silva’s side are said to want a £40m fee, while wages of £125k-a-week have been mooted for the Brazilian striker to green-light a move.

Muniz could be last resort at Leeds United

It has to be said that such an outlay would be a sizable amount for the 24-year-old who has had an inconsistent spell in West London.

This has seen him net 21 goals across the last three years, often hitting purple patches as opposed to showcasing regular goalscoring ability.

As risky as that could prove to be as a signing for Farke and Co., the need for a new number nine may outweigh any concerns around the ex-Watford loanee.

Leeds has also targeted the likes of Artem Dovbyk, but the Premier League experience of Muniz may tip the scales in his favour.

Fans in Yorkshire will now await the signing of a new forward, and it will certainly be interesting to see if one will come in before the season begins in LS11.
