Leeds United fans are on the same wavelength as Marcelo Bielsa with wanting Pablo Hernandez to stay put at Elland Road next season.

Hernandez, 36, has struggled to get regular game-time in the Premier League this term and was linked with a move away from Yorkshire in January.

The Athletic has reported that a fresh approach could be made by the Spanish club in the summer when Hernandez enters the last year of his contract at Leeds.

LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross reported on Wednesday that a “gentleman’s agreement” is on the cards for Hernandez to leave Elland Road for a nominal fee in the summer.

However, the Mirror has offered a fresh update on Hernandez’s position at Leeds, saying that Bielsa wants the Spanish veteran to stay put and see out his contract.

On the Leeds Insider Facebook page, we asked our Super Fans whether they think it’s the right call for Bielsa to keep Hernandez on for another year.

And the response we got was unanimous.

Here is a selection of the replies:

Hernandez has started just two Premier League matches since playing a huge role in Leeds’ promotion-winning season in the Championship.

He fell afoul of Bielsa earlier in the season when he threw a bit of a strop after being substituted off against Leicester.

Since then, we haven’t seen much of Hernandez and, in turn, we haven’t seen enough to suggest he’s worth keeping.

Ultimately, we think the decision should be down to Pablo.

If he wants to stay then let him – don’t force a club legend out of the door. However, if he wants to move on, no one should stand in his way.

In other Leeds United news, this Spurs ace is a doubt to play against Leeds on Saturday.
