Leeds Super Fans react as Josh Brownhill contact made

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road.

Leeds United reportedly made contact with Burnley this week over the potential signing of Josh Brownhill.

TEAMtalk shared the update on Wednesday, suggesting that it would take £15million to complete a deal.

Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa are looking for a midfielder, and have numerous names on their shortlist.

Conor Gallagher was the initial target at Elland Road, but he decided to join Crystal Palace instead on loan from Chelsea.

Leeds then moved to Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien, but things haven’t exactly been moving quickly this week.

James Marshment insisted that O’Brien wasn’t the only name on the shortlist, with Brownhill now also a big target in West Yorkshire.

We asked our esteemed panel of Leeds Super Fans over on Facebook if this would be an inspired move, and their responses were overwhelming.

The majority urged Orta to move on and look for bigger names, with one even labelling the reported interest as a “joke.”

Here’s what they said…

With Brownhill and O’Brien the two names still in the air, it looks as though a number of the Elland Road faithful may be left disappointed this summer.

After seeing names such as Rodrigo De Paul linked for so long, the shortlist appears to be getting smaller by the day – fingers crossed something gets done.
