Leeds United are not interested in a deal for Chelsea's Marc Guiu while Southampton are said to have rejected their loan offer for Cameron Archer, according to David Anderson.

The Mirror journalist reported via his X account (2 February) that despite links connecting the Whites with a move for Guiu [Sun on Sunday], the Spaniard is understood to not be a target as it stands.

Leeds had also reportedly made a bid to sign Archer from the Saints [Alex Crook] but Southampton have rejected the offer.

The Whites are keeping a close eye on his situation ahead of the deadline.

Leeds United are being eerily still in the market

It's hard to be overly negative about the situation at Elland Road given the fact the Whites are sitting top of the Championship but the winter transfer window felt like a real opportunity to cement their place in the Premier League next season.

With just over a day remaining until the 3 February deadline, Leeds are yet to make a single addition to the squad while those around them continue to strengthen and it's a very strange situation.

Of course, only time will tell on whether Leeds need reinforcement but come the end of the season, it feels like they may be forced to look back at this period of the season as a missed opportunity and one they should have grasped with both hands.

A deal for Archer could still happen but at the moment, even that one appears to be unlikely and it would be a genuine surprise if the Whites were to end the window having concluded no incoming business.

While there is still a day remaining, the signs arent looking overly positive.
