Leeds staff jet out on transfer mission to sign goal machine who’ll keep them in Premier League

Leeds United have sent scouts to watch FC Midtjylland’s Franculino Dju as the club continues to hunt for attacking solutions.

Leeds’ recent 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League saw them edge dangerously close to the relegation zone, with 18th-place West Ham within one point of the Whites.

Daniel Farke has been criticised for Leeds’ attacking output, with the Whites netting just 10 goals in 11 Premier League games.

After four defeats in Leeds’ last five Premier League games, attacking reinforcements have become a necessity.

Leeds hunt out wonderkid Franculino Dju

Leeds have sent scouts to watch Franculino after netting 19 goals in 26 games for Midtjylland this season, according to Leeds United News on 13 November.

The wonderkid arrived at the Danish team in 2023, and the Whites may have to pay a hefty sum to secure his services.

This would see him become a club-record signing for Leeds but would also take them beyond the PSR limit.

However, the large fee is one that Midtjylland will deem necessary given the strong interest from several sides, including West Ham.

With Farke under extreme pressure at Leeds, the Franculino file will be one for Leeds fans to keep a close eye on over the next couple of months.

Dju could save Leeds’ season

Farke is facing the sack at Leeds after a difficult return to the Premier League.

Indeed, the Whites have collected just 11 points in 11 league games and are third for fewest goals scored this season.

Franculino offers a viable, but expensive solution for Farke. The 21-year-old striker has scored 52 goals and provided 13 assists in 99 games for Midtjylland since his arrival in 2023.

While most of his goals have been scored in Denmark, the forward has netted three goals in the UEFA Europa League this season. As such, the rising star looks to be a player who will score goals from just about anywhere.

Therefore, with Leeds edging far too close to the relegation zone for comfort, Franculino could be the man to keep them in the Premier League this season.
