Leeds set sights on signing Ireland hero Troy Parrott, record-breaking bid to seal the deal
Leeds are lining up the signing of AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott after his Republic of Ireland heroics on Sunday.
Parrott scored a hat-trick in Ireland’s late 3-2 win over Hungary in the World Cup qualifiers, meaning they now face a play-off to reach North America next summer.
The ex-Tottenham striker has scored five goals in his country’s last two qualifying matches against both Hungary and Portugal, with Leeds now interested in bringing the Irishman to Elland Road.
Daniel Farke has major pressure on his shoulders at Leeds, and Parrott could potentially be the man to save him from the sack.

Leeds may have to break AZ Alkmaar’s record transfer sale for Troy Parrott
Farke’s underlying data for Leeds is concerning, and a poor start in the Premier League has been mainly down to a lack of attacking threat.
Leeds were linked with Parrott in May; however, it was revealed the Whites were not willing to pay the required £25m needed for his services.
Paraag Marathe may have been too hesitant, as recent reports suggest Leeds will have to pay even more than the initial asking price for Parrott.

According to VoetbalNieuws.nl, Leeds have set their sights on Parrott, and AZ Alkmaar are going to hold off for a deal worth “tens of millions”.
The update also claims the Dutch club could break their own record sale with Parrott, currently held by Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who joined Brighton for £19.8million in 2018.

Talks are reported to have begun between the Whites and the Dutch club for Parrott, with the striker viewed as a potential saviour for Leeds.

Joel Piroe Leeds exit now clear
Joel Piroe has been linked with a Leeds exit ahead of the January transfer window, with interest in Parrott making his departure seem inevitable.
The Dutchman has failed to make appearances under Farke in the Premier League, with the German head coach opting for Dominic Calvert-Lewin instead.
Piroe has been touted with a move back to the Championship as well as a return home to the Netherlands.
Leeds will face PSR issues in January and will almost certainly have to sell to secure Parrott, who could truly be their last hope of Premier League survival.
