Leeds seriously want to sign Ipswich star Hutchison in £25.5m+ transfer update

Omari Hutchinson could become the first signing of the summer transfer window for Leeds United.

After clinching the Championship title in dramatic fashion against Plymouth, Leeds will turn their attention immediately to the summer transfer window.

This summer will be a huge one for Leeds, and with several players already linked with a move to Elland Road, it is clear that they are ready to showcase some serious ambition.

With that in mind, the Whites have been linked with a move for Ipswich’s Hutchinson, with the latest update shared from Portman Road.

Hutchinson attracting interest from Premier League sides

First and foremost, a decision will need to be made on the future of Daniel Farke before any recruitment plans are put in place.

However, once that is done, Leeds will have a lot of work to do in the summer, and according to a report from Caught Offside (4 May), Ipswich’s Hutchinson is a player that the Whites are “seriously monitoring” ahead of the opening of the window.

Leeds are said to view him as an “ideal candidate” for their Premier League XI, though they aren’t alone with Everton and Burnley also showing an interest in the winger, who Ipswich are believed to be demanding around £25.5million for.

Leeds need Premier League quality players this summer

To reach 100 points in a Championship season is a remarkable achievement, but there will still be several areas that Leeds need to address to have any chance of surviving in the Premier League.

With the gulf in quality increasing every season, recruitment needs to be perfect, and players brought in more often than not need to have experience of playing there.

Hutchinson fits that bill, having been the shining light for The Tractor Boys this season, and his addition would be an excellent start to the summer squad overhaul.
