Leeds respond ‘without hesitation’ to latest Elland Road transfer bid as club president speaks out
Leeds are completely against selling Lucas Perri.
Turkish side Besiktas were interested in the 28-year-old, but their offer was swiftly rejected by the Elland Road outfit.
The Whites spent £13.9million when they signed Perri from Lyon in the summer, but he has been underwhelming in all aspects.
Since arriving from France, the Brazilian has been exposed numerous times for his lapses in concentration, and Karl Darlow has now replaced him in Daniel Farke’s starting line-up.
Although he is currently on the bench, Leeds believe he has a huge part to play in their season as Besiktas’ president spoke out on the potential move.

Leeds rejected Besiktas’ offer with absolute certainty
Besiktas president Serdal Adali has recently made it clear that his side is targeting a new goalkeeper.
Besiktas made an approach to sign Perri, although Leeds clearly don’t want to part ways with him just yet.
Turkish media outlet Yeni Akit Gazetesi reported that the Whites rejected the offer “without hesitation.”
They view the Brazilian as an integral part of their plans despite recent performances, and would not want to see him leave just six months after joining.
His underlying stats for Lyon were very impressive, and standing at 196cm tall, his stature could have been a real asset.

Farke has a huge dilemma on his hands, and he needs the 28-year-old to prove why Leeds signed him in the first place.
Perri has to be brought back into the team after Karl Darlow shocker vs Arsenal
The fact that Darlow is Leeds’ current first-choice goalkeeper is concerning.
The 35-year-old has hardly been convincing, and the loss to Arsenal confirmed that.
For the first two goals, Darlow was incredibly weak from set-piece situations, and it wasn’t a shock that he ended up punching Noni Madueke’s corner into his own goal.
| Stat | Perri |
| Clean sheets | 3 |
| Goals conceded | 29 |
| Saves | 38 |
| Save percentage | 56.7% |
| xG prevented | -2.18 |
For a team that prides itself on being physically dominant, it’s ironic that they can’t find that in a goalkeeper.
Although he has certainly been poor at saving shots, Perri is definitely more dominant in the air than Darlow.
A relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest is up next for Leeds, and Perri’s stature could prove to be a huge bonus against Sean Dyche’s side.
