Leeds ready to meet multi-million Nottingham Forest demands for Jota Silva deal

Leeds United could potentially turn their attention to Nottingham Forest forward Jota Silva this transfer window.

The Whites have been pushing to strengthen their forward line in recent weeks, but have failed in their attempt to sign Feyenoord attacker Igor Paixao.

Roma striker Artem Dovbyk is also being linked with a move to Elland Road, but it remains to be seen whether the West Yorkshire outfit will be able to get a deal over the line.

While it doesn’t seem like any new deals are close at the moment, the Peacocks may be able to complete a move for Silva swiftly.

Forest warn Sporting CP about Leeds United in Silva transfer race

Sporting CP want to sign Silva from Forest and are playing a “game of patience” but have been warned about Leeds’ pursuit, according to Noticias ao Minuto.

The news outlet reports (29 July) that the Portuguese outfit want to sign the 25-year-old on loan with an option to buy, but the Tricky Trees want an outright sale.

It’s been claimed that the Green and Whites are unwilling to offer £12.9million for the Portugal international, but “pressure” is being exerted by the Elland Road hierarchy, who can match Evangelos Marinakis’ price tag for the attacker.

It will be interesting to see whether the West Yorkshire outfit will end up sending a bid for Silva in the coming days.

Elland Road faithful won’t be as excited about Silva transfer

Paixao’s potential move to Olympique Marseille will certainly come as a bitter blow for supporters in LS11, who were encouraged by his goalscoring contributions in the Netherlands.

The Brazil national caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays last season, and it’s no surprise to see a top team in Ligue 1 wanting him.

Now the Whites’ recruitment department is exploring alternatives after failing to sign Paixao from Feyenoord, but Silva may not be the right candidate.

Leeds need someone they can count on to help reduce the burden on Joel Piroe at Elland Road, and the Forest attacker isn’t really known for his end product.

The 25-year-old is a right-footed forward who is versatile and can play across the front line, which may be something that attracts the Whites.

It would make sense for the West Yorkshire outfit to look at other quality targets before attempting to sign the Portuguese winger.

The Elland Road faithful will undoubtedly keep a close eye on developments in LS11 before the end of August.
