Leeds have begun to shortlist transfer targets for their return to the Premier League next season.

It is no doubt going to be a busy summer for Leeds. Now that Daniel Farke is set to stay on as manager of the Peacocks, preparations can begin for the upcoming campaign.

Despite Leeds lifting the Championship title with 100 points, signings are needed if the Yorkshire side are going to be the first promoted team to survive in the top-flight for three years.

Now, Leeds are already looking to make their first signing of the summer as they consider a move for Everton’s Beto.

Leeds considering 'shock' move for Everton’s Beto

With Premier League survival vital next season, Leeds will reportedly receive over £100 million for their summer transfer budget from the 49ers to achieve this.

However, almost one-third of this budget may go on just one player as the Peacocks consider a bid for Everton’s Beto.

According to Sky Sports (7 May), Leeds are considering a "surprise" move for Everton’s Beto, with a new striker seen as a priority this summer.

The 27-year-old is the Toffees’ top scorer this season but has only netted seven Premier League goals.

The majority of these came in a purple patch for the Guinea-Bissau international as David Moyes temporarily returned the striker to form.

It is currently unclear if Everton would let Beto go and how much he would cost, but the report states that Leeds are willing to pay up to £30 million to bring in a new striker.

Beto would be poor business for Leeds

If Leeds did sign Beto, it would be a highly underwhelming signing from the Peacocks.

The striker has been poor throughout the majority of his stay in the Premier League and is currently part of the worst attacks in the division.

To stay in the top-flight, Farke is going to need a 15-goal-a-season striker at a minimum, and Beto simply would not reach these numbers.

While it is no doubt going to be tough to find an attacker who will achieve this for £30 million and under, the Yorkshire side can find someone if they are smart in the market.
