Leeds ready £23.4m bid to sign 17-goal forward, Bielsa wants him at all costs – report
Leeds United are readying a bid worth £23.4million for Brentford forward Said Benrahma, according to Algerian news outlet Le Buteur.
It is understood that Marcelo Bielsa wants to sign the 24-year-old Algeria international “at all costs” after winning promotion to the Premier League with the Whites.
Benrahma has taken the Championship by storm this season, scoring 17 goals and supplying nine assists in 42 league appearance for Brentford, who can still secure automatic promotion alongside Leeds if results go their way on Wednesday.
However the Whites will no doubt hope that Brentford don’t do that because securing the services of Benrahma will be a lot easier if the London club remains in the Championship.
Benrahma has proven that he is more than good enough to step up to the Premier League and we reckon that the Algerian is likely to do that this summer with or without the Bees.
He is the highest-rated player in the Championship on the WhoScored website while only one player has averaged more dribbles per league game than him this term.
Leeds should definitely swoop in and sign the forward if they can afford him but striking deal is bound to be difficult with Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester also linked with the former OGC Nice attacker.
