Leeds net £7.72m windfall as Elland Road transfer finalised
Leeds United have received £7.72million into their coffers weeks before the summer transfer window opens.
With only four games left to play in the Championship, all eyes are on whether or not the Whites will keep their place at the top of the table and seal automatic promotion.
Sheffield United’s abysmal form of three consecutive defeats has seen them fall five points behind Leeds, meaning Daniel Farke and Co. are on course to play in the Premier League next term.
Therefore, the Elland Road outfit cannot be faulted for having one eye on next season, although it is certain that they will need to strengthen their squad significantly to compete in the top flight.

Leeds receive multi-million cash windfall
There have been suggestions that Leeds have been working on two budgets this season, with Paraag Marathe mooted to sanction transfers worth over £100m if promotion is confirmed.
Whether or not that is true, the West Yorkshire outfit will certainly have £7.72m more to spend this summer after receiving a multi-million cash windfall.
According to Sky Sports, that is the amount of money Leeds received from Rasmus Kristensen’s transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Whites announced on Wednesday (16 April) that the right-back has made his loan move to the Bundesliga permanent for an ‘undisclosed’ fee.
Meanwhile, the broadcasters, reporting via their live transfer blog (16 April, 4:54 pm), revealed that Farke’s side have pocketed £2.28m less than what they paid Red Bull Salzburg to sign him in 2022.

Kristensen departs Elland Road after three years
It has been evident that Kristensen would not play for Leeds again.
The Denmark international left Elland Road to join Roma on loan after the Whites dropped to the Championship in 2023, before joining Frankfurt on a similar deal last summer.
He has since established himself as a key player for the German club, who have been clear about their intentions to sign him permanently.
Frankfurt’s option to buy Kristensen was priced at £12.5m, but it appears they have managed to negotiate a lower sum with his parent club.
