Leeds make transfer progress in new £33m Igor Paixao update

Leeds United and Brighton are among the clubs linked with a move to sign Feyenoord winger-cum-forward Igor Paixao.

The Whites are keen on roping in attackers this summer to give themselves the best chance of avoiding relegation.

Despite securing promotion by getting 100 points, Daniel Farke is keen on transfers to strengthen the first team.

Paixao enquiry made as Feyenoord to demand £33m

According to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna (2 June), the Whites along with Brighton, have made an enquiry to Feyenoord over the availability of the winger.

The 24-year-old is also appreciated by Napoli, who have made initial contact to secure his services.

It’s understood that, as he is contracted to the Dutch club until 2029, Feyenoord can stick to their high asking price [Fr12.nl, 2 June]

Leeds United must beat Brighton to Paixao’s services

Leeds United must outmanoeuvre Brighton to secure Paixao’s services, as his dynamic skill set would significantly boost their Premier League survival hopes.

The 23-year-old Feyenoord winger’s performances in the Eredivisie showcase his attacking flair and creativity, ideal for Farke’s high-octane system.

Paixao’s versatility across the front line, combined with his Champions League experience, makes him a perfect fit to enhance Leeds’ wing play, which has lacked consistency.

Brighton’s interest, fueled by their data-driven recruitment, poses a threat, but Leeds can leverage their recent promotion momentum and promise of regular minutes to appeal to the 24-year-old.

Acting swiftly with a competitive bid, potentially around £25-30million, is crucial to outpace Brighton and secure a transformative talent.
