Leeds make request to PL club about £30,000-a-wk colossus ahead of summer - report
Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Manchester City centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, according to 90min.
Adarabioyo, 22, has spent the season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, where he has been in impressive form and scored two goals in 26 Championship appearances.
The 6ft 5 [transfermarkt] colossus is set to return to the Etihad in the summer but will also be entering the final year of his contract.
90min reports that a whole bunch of teams are keeping an eye on the former West Brom loanee, with Everton leading the race for his signature.
Wolves, Burnley, Leicester, Newcastle and Southampton are also eyeing up Adarabioyo while it is understood that Leeds have requested that they are “kept in the loop about any developments”.
Will Leeds be able to sign him in the summer? That remains to be seen and it is likely to depend on whether the Whites win promotion from the Championship.
According to statistics website Spotrac, Adarabioyo is earning £30,000-a-week on his deal at Man City, which should be affordable for Leeds.
But 90min reports that the Premier League giants have slapped a £20million price-tag on the head of the former England youth international.
Adarabioyo failed to impress in his loan spell at West Brom last season but had been forced to play out of his comfort zone at right-back on plenty of occasions.
However since heading to Ewood Park in the summer, the young defender’s form has improved a lot.
He might be a decent addition for Leeds as they could be forced into replacing Ben White.
