Leeds United-linked Jordan Lukaku has been made available for just £5million by Lazio, according to the Daily Mail.
Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reported last month that Marcelo Bielsa has taken a shine to the 26-year-old left-back, who is the younger brother of Inter Milan star Romelu, as well as a number of other Lazio players.
The Mail now claims that Premier League clubs are monitoring Lukaku as he aims to move to England because he feels a switch here would improve his chances of getting into the Belgium squad for Euro 2021.
Lazio are clearly keen to move the eight-times Belgium international on with him reportedly valued at £5million while the Serie A giants might even consider letting him leave on loan.
This news is surely music to the ears of Bielsa after that report from Italy, especially as it was widely reported at the end of last season that the Leeds manager would look for a new left-back to add to his squad.
Barry Douglas struggled for game-time last season due to injuries and being behind Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski in the pecking order.
But the latter two are not out-and-out left-backs, unlike Lukaku, who’s made a name for himself in Belgium and Italy for his attack-minded displays from the full-back area.
Lukaku could be a good fit for Leeds and with him reportedly available so cheap this year, it would not surprise us if Bielsa steps up his pursuit of the Belgian ace.
In other Leeds United news, Bielsa has sounded out this £13million-rated midfielder.
